Dick Shone - Managing Director
Dick founded Boutique Modern in 2009. The company is based on the principle that quality design, lean manufacturing principles and modern construction methods could be applied to improve the quality, sustainability and running costs of affordable housing.
George Palmer - Operations Director
George oversees all operations in the factory and on-site from project outset to completion. He plays a key role in implementing company culture and developing cohesive teams as well as implementing safe working practice throughout the business. George is the driving force behind Boutique Modern's track record for delivery.
Lucas Shone - Projects Director
Lucas manages BM's market strategy and oversees new projects from enquiry and tender to contract. He has a detailed knowledge of client needs and specialises in developing key client relationships. He also manages BM's corporate responsibility and delivery of social value.
Neil Eckert - Chairman
In addition to his role with Boutique Modern, Neil serves as the Executive Chairman of IncubEx. He was co-founder and CEO of Climate Exchange PLC, and founded Brit Insurance in 1995, serving as CEO until 2005. He was also founder and Chairman of Aggregated Micropower PLC, an Aim-listed renewable developer until its sale in January 2020.
Emma Green - Finance Manager
Emma runs day-to-day finances within Boutique Modern. Building strong relationships with both clients and suppliers on payment processing and account management.
Ciaran Andrews dipArch ARB - Design Manager
Ciaran takes the lead on design and technical coordination for Boutique Modern. His specialism is new build mixed-use schemes on difficult sites, concentrating on residential development. He previously worked with Nash Partnership in Bristol on large scale schemes at McArthur’s Yard and The Old Brewery Sites.
Jim Mason - Quality Control Manager
Jim is responsible for our Quality Management System and ensuring that all works are completed to Boutique Modern’s exemplary quality control standards. A longstanding member of the team; Jim has a deep and intricate understanding of our build system.
Scott Dalton Meng GMICE APM - Project Manager
Having previously worked for household name main contractors delivering large scale projects Scott specialises in the pre-construction and on-site elements of the business, working with all departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and as planned.
John Allen - Process Analyst
John manages the company internal audit system to ensure robust monitoring of SOPs, KPIs, documentation and accreditations. Working with all departments in data analysis and process streamlining to maximise efficiency and continuous improvement.
Matthew Cressey - Finance Assistant
Matt is an Accountant in training and manages the company's day-to-day financial tasks including stock management, purchasing and supplier approval. Matt also plays a key role in Boutique Modern's environmental impact and performance monitoring.
Manuel Perez Agudo - Architectural Technician
Manuel is an experienced BIM / Revit specialist and maintains all new and ongoing project central design models. Developing detailed and robust drawing models for contract, construction, compliance and visualisation.
Jojo Shone - Materials Designer and Researcher
Jojo manages the ongoing Material Health project which ensures the continual decarbonisation of Boutique Modern buildings. Working with all departments to reduce the environmental impact of all our systems and processes.
Katie Harries - ModernHome Team Lead
Katie oversees the ModernHome department and is responsible for coordinating all client aftercare and end user communication; including managing repairs services in fulfilment of our expanding portfolio of maintenance contracts.
Ryan Smith - ModernHome Technician
Ryan undertakes repairs and maintenance as part of our client aftercare process, as well as carrying out property surveys and advising customers on home energy efficiency.

We’ve pledged to generate in excess of 500 employment opportunities in our local community both directly and through our supply chain. Modular construction presents massive opportunities for training and skills development for all people looking to get into construction.
We have fantastic working relationships with local organisations such East Sussex Colleges Group and the Department for Work & Pensions which have helped us recruit a large proportion of our existing workforce.
